She begins rummaging through shelves, looking for notes while reliving memories of a past winter; the family gathered at the fireplace reading stories.
She recalls the particular book, it was her father's favorite, a book he often used as inspiration in his own writing, a book he rarely took out of his office upstairs.
Before she decides to leave, she noticed the decrepit piano on the other side of the room. Her mother would always light the fireplace and play it after dinner.
